I'd like to find out what you guys think about Google Groups's
capabilities...

Of course, it's no full-featured forum where you can create polls,
sort threads, post pictures, etc, but personally I find a wee bit
"bare-boned" to my likings.

I've thought that it would be more like Yahoo Groups where there's
more things that members could do :(

Oh well, I guess since our group's population is very very very tiny,
having discussions would be enough for now.

Yeah, the features is pretty limited. I just realised you can't even
delete discussions (need to remove post by post). This was new to me
as well, and I thought being "google" it should be good. My bad xD.

If everyone agrees, we'll migrate to yahoo groups. Since this is still
new and the population is "tiny", its better to migrate now than
later :P.

How about we "shop around" for a while for the best "home" :)

I mean, is there any "free forum" service around other than google and
yahoo groups? Most of the full featured forums I've been need to be
hosted on a server by the forum owner and used powerful apps like
phpBB, Invision Power Board, vBulletin etc...

Also, I liked the fact that we've changed our group description by
adding all projects under Queensbay Development.

Perhaps we could think of another Forum/Group name when we migrate,
like Queensbay Project Owners ( just an example ), and we can create
threads for Baystar first, later attract other owners of BayGarden,
BayAvenue, BayCapital and BayVillas?

OK, since I couldn't edit my last post, apparently those full featured
forums can be created for free, one example:
http://www.invisionplus.net/

What do you all think? Should we create a forum or just move to Yahoo
Groups?

Something like Lowyat Forums? *hits self at the head, why din't I
think of forums lol.

well, if I'm not mistaken, phpBBplanet, Invision and Active Board have
free servers, so we don't to lease servers ourselves.

Hey ! Never thot I'd find another lowyat.net member here :) LOL

Yah, just need someone to start the a forum now. I don't have any
experience at all at running a forum as admin.

At the most, I'd only made it as senior/advanced member in most forums
I've joined. Not even a moderator :(

LOL don't think im even a senior member in lowyat forums yet :P. too
many posts in kopitiam thread xD.
Well, here's your chance to be a mod :P. Experience doesn't really
matter anyway. You need time and commitment though =)

Anyway, I'll go look around those free forums and see. At first glance
invisionplus looks good though cuz of the free skins and resemblance
to lowyat forums.

And we need a name for the forum if we're going for it. So
people...please pour in your ideas. Once the forum is up, we'll be
living with it for a very very long time...most probably.

And if you have other suggestions or opinions please voice it out as
well =). We want to know what everyone thinks.

Hi there Snowfish :) I guess you were the one that replied with
comments to my post on Baystar on Penang Property Talk in lowyat.net.
I'm dingdangdong.

Anyways, back to forum name suggestion, how do we check that we are
not violating any trademark or copyrighted name? I dunno if CP group
would like to know an unauthorized group use their project's name in a
forum...

But then again, if we make it full of info and attract future buyers,
we are helping them with free promo and advert :)

http://www.invisionplus.net/ and makeforums.org seems to be better of
the lot for now, but makeforums is quite slow. So, might opt for
invisionplus.net.

I think its ok to use Queensbay since queensbay is the name of the
township right? Bay_Residence? if we're going to have a forum on
invisionplus it would be something like this

queensbay.invisionplus.net.

Other members, what do you think? Would like to hear your views as
well.
