When I try and start Maya, both the launcher (see pic below) and Output Window open, but I'm unable to sign in to activate the product. As soon as I click "Sign in with your Autodesk ID," the launcher closes and nothing happens. I've tried reopening Maya and the same thing happens over and over again.

I have the same problem but i did all of the steps and no luck, help. I installed maya 2024 a few months ago with success, then decided to Uninstall a while ago but then reinstall it. Now this time I can't login, I tried every solution and none worked. I can't even login in autodesk access

At the same time, although production budgets are increasing, they are not keeping pace with consumer demand. This puts pressure on companies to do more for less. As larger facilities enlist freelance artists and boutique VFX houses to scale workload capacity, there is more demand for affordable industry-standard tools. For studios to compete, creativity and efficiency are paramount.

Maya was originally an animation product based on code from The Advanced Visualizer by Wavefront Technologies, Thomson Digital Image (TDI) Explore, PowerAnimator by Alias, and Alias Sketch!. The IRIX-based projects were combined and animation features were added; the project codename was Maya.[7] Walt Disney Feature Animation collaborated closely with Maya's development during its production of Dinosaur.[8] Disney requested that the user interface of the application be customizable to allow for a personalized workflow. This was a particular influence in the open architecture of Maya, and partly responsible for its popularity in the animation industry.

In the early days of development Maya started with Tcl as the scripting language, in order to leverage its similarity to a Unix shell language, but after the merger with Wavefront it was replaced with Maya Embedded Language (MEL). Sophia, the scripting language in Wavefront's Dynamation, was chosen as the basis of MEL.[10]

In 2005, while working for AliasWavefront, Jos Stam shared an Academy Award for Technical Achievement with Edwin Catmull and Tony DeRose for their invention and application of subdivision surfaces.[18]

VFX supervisor, Max Riess, provided me the time I needed for R&D. I explored procedural ways to populate the trees and vegetation and Bifrost allowed me to set parameters to produce 100 trees that look the same with shared characteristics, but different in height and thickness. When you can fill a forest without having to model each individual asset by hand, it saves a lot of time. In the end, we used Bifrost to scatter everything that enriched the Fantastic Forest sequence. Every scene had different scattered elements, from nets connecting trees and the ground, to mushrooms on the forest floor, which were then added to the layout.
