1. Introduction In this digital age, cloud storage has become an integral part of our lives. Dropbox is a popular cloud storage service that allows users to store and access files from anywhere with an internet connection. If you have a photo folder stored on Dropbox and want to download it to your computer for offline access or backup purposes, this article will guide you through the process step by step.

Downloading your photo folder from Dropbox to your computer is a simple and effective way to access your precious memories offline and ensure they are safely backed up. Whether you choose to download via the website, desktop application, or mobile app, Dropbox offers a user-friendly experience for managing your photo collection.

I want to move all my photos/files from dropbox to an external hard drive, remove them from my dropbox without delete any photos by mistake or anything. This is to organize my photos and files properly, so I can use my dropbox as a temporarily back up for my more recent photos which is why I wanted to use dropbox as in the first place!

There are several photos on my dropbox that doesn't show in my dropbox-app for my pc but I have a lot of old pictures there and I don't want to delete them, only remove them from dropbox and keep them on my computer. I have approximately 231 recent photos(on my phone) that I can't save on my dropbox because I don't have enough space. But I don't want to upgrade since I don't really need that much space. I just want to transfer them to an external hard drive via my computer.

Once you install the Dropbox app on your computer and the syncing is complete, you can unlink Dropbox from your device. Then you can move your Dropbox folder and store it wherever you want and do permanent changes to your computer that do not sync back to the website.

I want to know too! when i first opened a dropbox account i didn't realize it would take some of my photos permanently off my iPhone and i pad so i can ply view then by going to dropbox. i have a new macbook and want to put my photos currently in my dropbox file onto my computer. HEELLPPPPPPP

I have the same question. I wonder if it is to force us to pay for more space on dropbox? Since I have downloaded this app I have been getting warnings regularly that I am out of storage on my phone. This is in addition to a 16G SD card that is almost empty. I did not choose which photos went to dropbox. I'm getting very annoyed that we cant get an answer and that my phone is being effected by this app. As soon as I figure this out, Dropbox is gone. I may reconsider if someone actually helps us. I will not be forced to pay for my pictures, that's is just not right.

It appears to me that we are all guilty of thinking of DROPBOX as multiple locations. There is only one DROPBOX, folks. It's floating in the ether so it services your phone and your computers no matter how many or wherever they may be. I am in the process of emailing my downloaded grandbaby pictures to my computer -- where I will not put them in Dropbox. I will put them in a computer folder. I attach about 8 pictures, address the yahoo message to myself and hit send and do it again and again, but then my pictures are on the phone in the gallery and I can use that to attach them to emails and they are safe in the folders on the laptop and the external photos only thumbdrive.....that's another step, but it's a click and drag easy step.

The photos folder is the old way of sharing photos with Dropbox. Basically, the idea was you could go to www.dropbox.com/photos_folder and see & share nice photo galleries. The simple idea was that each folder within the photos folder was automatically mapped to a gallery.

This feature has been deprecated, and probably won't be around much longer (i.e. the photos folder will be treated just like any other regular folder). Instead, you should use the photos tab (www.dropbox.com/photos), which shows all the photos in your Dropbox, no matter which folder they are in. Also, sharing is now not restricted to being everything in a particular folder - you can share any set of pictures you want from the photos tab, without having to worry about where they are in your Dropbox (This also means that if you want to share two overlapping sets of photos with different people, there is no need to duplicate the common images). It's still possible to share any folder with anyone - just use the "get link" feature (which works for all filetypes, not just images) - and if that folder is full of images, the resulting page is a photo gallery (with the new & better design).

If you have a smart phone or tablet (iPhone, iPad, or Android) and the DropBox app installed on it, the most recent version of DropBox will sync the photos from that device to the Photos folder. This is a new feature in the latest version of the app and must be explicitly allowed.

Thank you for your information, I solved the problem. I am taking the Codepen website and imputing it into GitHub, but you can code directly into GitHub Pages, for a website? And when you say they take care of images, does that mean you can upload directly from your computer, or they just have a way of getting a url for pictures?

Why would you want to do this? For me, I do the bulk of my editing at my desk using my iMac. But sometimes I would like to have a little more freedom as to where I can work. I want the ability to take my Lightroom catalog with me if I am working from the studio, or on vacation, or on a plane. Sometimes, when I am editing a wedding or sessions, I would much rather sit on the couch, turn on a movie or show, and edit in a more comfortable setting. That why I set up my Lightroom to be accessed on both of my computers. There is a way to easily use the same Lightroom catalog on multiple computers using Dropbox.

Choose which computer will be your primary computer workstation. For me, it is my iMac. This is the computer where I store all my RAW files (via attached external hard drives). When I come home from a shoot with new files, I load them in to Lightroom using this computer (and only this computer).

It will not delete any photos from your iPhone/iPad albums or Photo Stream. In fact, as of iOS 7 no iOS App Store apps are able to delete photos from iOS devices because there is no public Apple API to do this.

Earlier today, I was asked how to get a collection of photos off of an iPad. Thinking I had the answer, I started walking the individual through the process. I soon discovered I did not have the entire process down. I took a couple of minutes to get smarter on the subject, and here is one possible method for transferring images for the iPad native photo app to Dropbox. I also included a process for transferring photos from Dropbox to the iPad. Before I explain these processes, I will explain how to capture a screenshot with the iPad.
