Sillunu Oru Kadhal (A Breezy Love) is a 2006 Tamil romantic drama film starring Suriya, Jyothika and Bhumika Chawla in the lead roles. The film was directed by N. Krishna and had music composed by A.R. Rahman. The film was released on September 8, 2006, three days before the wedding of Suriya and Jyothika. The film revolves around the love story of Gowtham (Suriya) and Kundavi (Jyothika), who are married in an arranged marriage. Gowtham is not very expressive of his love for Kundavi, and often neglects her due to his busy work schedule. One day, Kundavi finds Gowtham's old diary, which reveals his past love affair with Ishwarya (Bhumika Chawla), his college sweetheart. Kundavi is shocked and hurt to learn that Gowtham had loved someone else before her, and decides to confront him about it.
Gowtham, meanwhile, is sent to New York for a project, where he coincidentally meets Ishwarya, who is now a divorcee with a son. Ishwarya still loves Gowtham, and tries to rekindle their relationship. Gowtham, however, tells her that he is married and has a daughter, and asks her to move on with her life. Ishwarya respects his decision, but requests him to spend a day with her as a friend. Gowtham agrees, and they spend a day together in New York, reminiscing their old memories. Kundavi, who has followed Gowtham to New York, sees them together and misunderstands their friendship as an affair. She decides to divorce Gowtham and return to Chennai with Ishu.
Gowtham returns to Chennai and finds out that Kundavi has left him. He realizes his mistake of not expressing his love for her, and decides to win her back. He goes to Nirmala's house, where Kundavi is staying, and begs her to forgive him. He also tells her that he had never cheated on her with Ishwarya, and that he loves only her. Kundavi is moved by his sincerity, and decides to give him another chance. They reconcile and renew their vows of love. The film ends with Gowtham and Kundavi celebrating their anniversary with Ishu.
