Announcing a course sequence in Bayesian Data Science:

Bayesian Disease Mapping (BDM):

Introduction to Bayesian Disease Mapping (IBDM) (2 day)
Bayesian Disease Mapping with INLA (BDMI) (1 day)
Advanced Bayesian Disease Mapping (ABDM) (2 day)
**University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK June 5th - June 9th 2017**

*Course content*
These courses are designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the area of
Bayesian disease mapping in applications to Public Health and Epidemiology:
The Introductory course (Part I) will run on June 5th- June 6th, the BDMI course will run on June 7th
and the advanced course (Part II) will run on June 8th - June 9th 2017.

The BDMI course provides a hands-on introduction to spatial health modeling with INLA,
while more advanced INLA examples are included in the advanced course.
Both spatial and spatio-temporal analyses using WinBUGS and INLA will be considered.
Examples will range over childhood asthma data from Georgia, influenza in South Carolina,
foot-and-mouth disease in the UK and Ohio respiratory cancer.

which has led to an edited volume “Disease Mapping and Risk Assessment for Public Health”.
He has published a number of books focused on disease mapping and
spatial epidemiology. Most recently, acted as chief editor of the CRC press Handbook of Spatial Epidemiology (2016).
The 2nd Edition (2013) of the volume *Bayesian Disease Mapping* will be a course text for the introductory course,
