Dear Students and Parents,

We are excited to invite you to a special student sharing session featuring Luke Wu, a senior from The Harker School who was admitted to Harvard University.

Many students wonder what truly helps applicants stand out in today’s highly competitive college admissions landscape. Luke’s journey offers an inspiring example of how authentic leadership, initiative, and community impact can shape a compelling application.

During this session, Luke will share:

  • His high school journey at Harker

  • How he balanced rigorous academics with meaningful extracurricular involvement

  • His leadership experiences in student government, civic engagement, business, and service

  • The story behind launching initiatives that created real change in his school and community

  • His college application process, including how he approached essays, activities, and personal narrative

  • Lessons learned, challenges faced, and advice for younger students

Luke’s accomplishments include:

  • Harvard University admit

  • President of Associated Student Body (ASB)

  • Founder of multiple student and community initiatives

  • Leadership roles in Speech & Debate, DECA, finance clubs, civic engagement organizations, and nonprofit service

  • Extensive real-world business and public policy experience through internships and entrepreneurship

What makes Luke’s story especially remarkable is not simply the number of activities he participated in, but the depth of leadership, collaboration, and initiative he demonstrated across different areas of his community.

This session will be especially valuable for students who want to:

  • Develop meaningful leadership experiences

  • Build authentic extracurricular profiles

  • Understand what selective colleges look for beyond grades and test scores
