Dr. Zhang is an experienced chemistry educator with a background in Organic Chemistry and has been teaching at the college level in the United States since 2005. She has extensive experience teaching General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and AP Chemistry, as well as mentoring and tutoring students preparing for the AP Chemistry exam and the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO).
Dr. Zhang firmly believes that building a strong foundation is essential for success in any science subject. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes developing students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills rather than relying on rote memorization or "cookbook" approaches to solving problems.
As a College Board AP Chemistry Reader, Dr. Zhang brings firsthand insight into the AP Chemistry exam and the skills students need to succeed. Through her teaching and mentoring at SpringLight, her students have consistently achieved strong results in their chemistry courses and on the AP Chemistry exam.
