The Canadian Computing Competition is a fun challenge for secondary school students with an interest in programming organized by Centre for Education Mathematics and Computing (CEMC). It is an opportunity for students to test their ability in designing, understanding and implementing algorithms.

Format
  • Written at school, participants write online, individually
  • 5 questions
  • 3 hours
  • Score out of 75

To learn more about the format of the competition, including the allowed programming languages and the type of questions participants can expect, visit CCC Format and Languages.

Participants may choose to write either the Junior or Senior level of the competition.

  • Junior level any participant with beginner programming skills
Straightforward topics like basic loops and conditions and progresses to advanced material, like
recursion, two-dimensional arrays and efficient or clever algorithms.
  • Senior level any participant with intermediate to advanced programming skills
In difficulty from basic algorithms to more advanced algorithms, like careful counting and some mathematical reasoning, with the final question typically involving material at the level of the IOI.

Approximately 20 of top Senior contestants from the CCC are invited to attend the Canadian Computing Olympiad (CCO), held at the University of Waterloo, in the Spring.

The test administration fee is $30 which is nonrefundable. Participants will have chance to do practice test before the official contest once the payment received.
