This unique residential program places teenage musicians (12-18) in a beautiful setting with professional musicians. Teens learn to play Celtic folk music, spending a week with other teen musicians in a supportive environment with a strong sense of community. Students practice and perform in instrument-specific groups, in small bands, and with the entire camp. For players of fiddle, flute, penny whistle, recorder, clarinets, harp, autoharp, guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, accordion, keyboards, percussion, Irish tenor banjo, and cello. Other activities include vocal training, Scottish dance, movie night, a barn dance, crafts, a talent show, and lots of jamming!
The camp offers a highly collaborative environment, with opportunities for creativity and collaborative leadership. It is a wholly immersive experience, with a diverse group of musicians. Some Teen Camp graduates go on to make music their career; all Teen Camp participants come away from the camp having experienced the joy of bonding through creating music together.
Highly recommended for all musicians with 2+ years experience on their instrument.
