The Common Application personal essay is one of the most important—and often most intimidating—parts of the college application process. A powerful essay can make a real difference in admissions decisions.

Join our two-hour intensive workshop designed to equip students with the skills and strategies they need to tackle the personal essay with confidence. In this session, students will learn:

• Proven structures for writing compelling essays

• How to avoid common mistakes and misconceptions

• Techniques to overcome procrastination and writer’s block

• and more

The class will be in lecture format with interactive Q&A throughout. Students do not need to bring a draft, but time permitting, we may discuss individual topics or ideas upon request.

Meet the Instructor:

Mrs. Webster, SpringLight’s college essay chief editor, has over a decade of experience as a college essay editor and writing coach. Her students not only gain admission to top schools but also grow as writers and individuals through the process.
