I was used to type Win+W for SlickRun, but after finally installing the latest Windows 10 update, this is now taken over for some "Windows Ink Workspace"

It seems there is no longer any free Win+? shortcut which I can easily type single-handed ...

I tried Win+Q and setting GrabWinQ=1 on the INI, but it seems Win 10 is very protective of its hotkeys.

So, long story short, what are people using as shortcut these days?

TIA!
Claudio

Every new build of Win10 has brought with it swaps of Windows key hotkey changes, and unfortunately, the Microsoft folks are pretty terrible at sharing the new sets of keys (particularly on fast and slow ring insider builds). So, I gave up and went looking for what others were doing also.

Eric, a long while ago (not sure exactly when), suggested Ctrl+Q, and that has served me well since (I've been using for the last year or so). I'm still bummed to give up the WindowsKey+Q,A,W,S, and X I have been using, but ultimately it was more work to have to remember a new one all of the time, and Ctrl+Q just seems to work fine.

Many Thanks to all who replied, and especially to Daniel and Jon for the CTRL+Q suggestion.

I overlooked CTRL+* combinations because I had grown accustomed to Win+ combinations.  But came to realize that CTRL+Q is indeed the same as my previous Win+W, just shifted to the left.  And a quick look through the IDEs and other applications I use most often show that I don't rely on CTRL+Q for anything currently.

So, from now on, CTRL+Q it is.

Many thanks folks.

And Eric, once again, a shout out for this indispensable tool. Slick run is *the* first app I install on a fresh new PC, and I keep a copy of my INI file and the exported keywords on my dropbox.  A new machine does not feel right unless I've installed SR on it :-)

thanks,
Claudio

FWIW, some people use the default behavior of Ctrl+Space (which opens the system menu at the top left of almost all Windows programs).

Instead of using the old INI command, instead simply instruct Windows 10 to stop stealing the hotkeys; see https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/bayden/SYoEWh-C80w. It works great.
