I want to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.
This blessed day is one for family and friends and food (and a
Lions win), but that's not all. It is a day when we remember that
greatest gift of all: that of Jesus Christ being born as a baby in
a lowly manger in Bethlehem to be our Savior.
Last night, I watched George C. Scott's "A Christmas Carol". That
timeless story reminded me once again of what Christmas is all
about. Tiny Tim's prayer of "God bless us, every one" remains as
true then as it does now. God has blessed our nation and, indeed,
our world through the birth of His Son Jesus. I also attended
church last night, as did, I imagine, many of you last night and
heard that great story about how when the time came "she gave
birth to her firstborn, a son, and she wrapped Him in swaddling
clothes and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for
them in the inn." Christ is the greatest gift ever given to this
world.
May God bless each and every one of you and your families this
Christmas Day and all year long.
