OSAMA BIN LADEN IS DEAD!!!!!!! And "Snyder Targets Teacher Performance: Governor Outlines Plan to Reinvent Education": the Latest Edition of the Bay County Bulletin

An extra happy Monday morning to all!  Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, the leader of al-Qaeda and the scourge of America for untold numbers of years has been killed by our United States special forces!!  There are few times that I have woken up, checked my BlackBerry and been as excited and happy for the United States of America and the wider world as I was today.  To paraphrase what President Bush said during his speech to the U.S. Congress ten years ago: "We did not tire.  We did not falter.  And we did not fail."  God Bless America and our brave men and women in uniform!

President Bush issued a statement which I thought I'd include in this morning's email as well:

"Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001.  I congratulated him and the men and women of our military and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude.  This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001.  The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message:  No matter how long it takes, justice will be done."
