JOLLY4 began development in March 2021 and was to be made on Clickteam, the same engine used to make all the previous Jolly games. However the game page for Jolly 4 was mildly leaked in the same month, with the page getting deleted due to this.
JOLLY 4, as well as the sneak peak to its titular character, Jolly Goodtime, was revealed during the Fangames at Freddy's Summer Showcase on August 14th, 2021. IvanG uploaded a GameJolt post on the same day as the event, which gave fans access to the Jolly 4 gamepage.
A month later on September 15th, 2021, the JOLLY 4 development team set up an ARG by posting incomprehensible numbers and letters among each of their Gamejolt profiles, which in time was confirmed to be parts of an Imgur link, which would take theorists to a teaser picture of George Goodtime. The picture was posted to GameJolt by IvanG after it was found, which also announced the addition of Mechlus to the Jolly 4 team.
Two weeks later, a poster was uploaded on GameJolt, revealing Tweetie Goodtime, Maxie Goodtime and the hands of a puppet-like character (later revealed to be Tal Goodtime). The hands of the Goodtimes were also updated, giving them joints and more articulation. Other things teased amongst them were a soundtrack list, a canon schedule, gameplay teaser and a hallway teaser featuring George Goodtime.
On June 11th, 2022, due to some controversy regarding Mechlus and Ultranite, they were removed from the team after readjustments, and some assets from Jolly 4 were unfortunately leaked. The game would still continue development as normal without them and would be moved back to Clickteam due to many people being concerned that they can't run the game or have enough storage space to download it when it would be made in Unreal Engine 4, due to its large size. Ultranite stepped down as co-director of the game, and Weshek took his place as the second director of JOLLY 4.
On January 31st, 2023, Jolly 4 reached 20,000 followers, and because of this, IvanG revealed that the office section of the game (as well as a small portion of the free roam) has nearly been finalized, with two GIFs showcasing the free roam, two GIFs of the cameras including one of George Goodtime crawling in the ventilation system, and three GIFs of the office, including a moment where the player defends against Tweetie Goodtime, and another showcasing George Goodtime's jumpscare. There is a hidden word in the post in the form of seemingly random bold letters throughout the post, with the word in question being "decayed".
Nick Sita (born: February 20, 2001 (2001-02-20) [age 23]) better known online as Nikson is an Italian game developer and artist. He created SFM animations and games for fans of the Five Nights at Freddy's series. Starting off making G-mod and Minecraft MLG-edits and parody videos of the popular game franchise Five Nights at Freddy's, his career as a game developer picked up after announcing Those Nights at Fredbear's (which was later canceled)
Nikson set up a YouTube account in 2011, but started animating and games in 2015. His Animations and G-mod videos kicked off his youtube career and gave him a place among other popular FNAF animators. He got a name for himself in the SFM FNAF scene after his series Bonzi Bonnie (based on the Bonzi Buddy segments of Vargeskeletor Joel's windows streams) got widespread attention. Other than that, Nikson also worked on dubstep remixes and original songs under the alias Niliax with his soundcloud still being open to the public, the only trace of this interest on youtube being his remix of Spooktunes from indie game Undertale, which is still public on his channel today.[1]
His first game was a free-roam unreal engine 4 game named Those Nights at Fredbear's, this game was canceled mid development. He then moved on to create another fangame, the joy of creation where the player faces off against the ignited animatronics. Shortly after deciding to move on from this idea, he announced The Joy of Creation free roam demo, a demo of a larger game that would later become The Joy of Creation: Story mode. Before The Joy of Creation free roam demo was teased, he worked on and released Those Nights at Rachel's, an original fangame featuring his own characters. His free roam style of unreal engine 4 fangames have given him a place among other widely known fangame devs, even earning him a spot in the Fredbear Fanverse Initiative, a group of fangames funded by FNaF series creator Scott Cawthon himself.
