Hi Professor Grandia,

 

I hope you are doing well. My name is Shyenne Lewis and I am a graduate student in the Environmental Policy and Management Program and student in your NAS 123 Section 5 course. In addition to being a student I am CalRecycle’s and CalEPA’s Environmental Justice Liaison and I wanted to share this questionnaire on behalf of the Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC). Researchers at the CA Safer Consumer Products Program (SCP) have developed a Personal Care Product Research Questionnaire and are seeking respondents through May 30, 2026.

 

The mission of SCP is to advance the design, development, and use of products that are chemically safer for people and the environment, and personal care products. The questionnaire was designed to address any data gaps identified in their personal care product. The results of this questionnaire will be used to inform SCP personal care product, and they intend to host a workshop or release a report to the public. More information can be found below.

  

In week 3 lecture we discussed pesticides and other chemicals found in various products and I thought this questionnaire may be of interest to you.  If you are open to sharing with your network that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Hello!

 

I’m reaching out because a team of our researchers at the CA Safer Consumer Products Program (SCP) have developed a Personal Care Product Research Questionnaire that we are seeking respondents for through May 30, 2026. The purpose of our questionnaire is to gain a better understanding of what personal care products people are using, where they’re purchasing them, and what influences their decisions. We designed this questionnaire to address the data gaps we’ve identified in our personal care product research, and we’re eager to see what people will report.

 

The survey takes ~15 minutes. We are seeking a wide and diverse pool of respondents, focusing on people who live in California. We hope to hear from people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds and have the questionnaire available in both English and Spanish.

 

Would you please help us get our survey out by sharing it with your network? We would greatly appreciate your help and participation, as the results of this survey will be used to inform our future work. If you have any questions or thoughts, please let us know.
