The Orinda Starlight Village Players will open their 43rd season on Friday, June 5th with the Bay Area premiere of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie, Adapted for the stage by Mark Shanahan. The play takes place in A small English village in 1926 where gossip is the local currency. When the most prominent man in town is found murdered the rumors begin to fly and the local inspector is stumped. However, it just so happens that world famous detective, Hercule Poirot, has just retired to the village and he sets out to discover the truth.
Based in Agatha Christie’s genre changing novel that is considered one of the best mysteries ever written! The novel celebrates it 100 year anniversary this year!
OrSVP’s production is directed and designed by award winning artist, Matt Cardigan-Smith.
