DIRECTOR
- MUSICAL THEATER- PAID POSITION (San Carlos)
Bay Area Educational Theater Company is seeking a qualified Director for our
upcoming musical production of "Mary Poppins". Auditions and
Rehearsals are Saturdays and Sundays and potentially some weekday evenings from
January 8 - April 6th, 2022. Tech week rehearsals are Mon-Wed, April 4- April
6. Performances are April 7th - 10th. Must have musical theater background and
extensive experience working with children.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
To participate in auditions and
casting.
To work with the Creative Team to create the artistic tone of the show.
To educate all members of the cast on theater arts training and terms
commensurate with their experience.
To create and teach all stage blocking for the production.
To provide rehearsal schedules within the guidelines of the company.
To actively supervise students while they are under your care.
QUALIFICATIONS
2 years min. experience in working with children
Musical Theater Direction experience a must.
Available the entire duration of program
This is a paid position.

· To expose all members of the cast to basic music skills and terms commensurate with their experience.
· To teach cast members all music for the production.
· To assemble and rehearse orchestra. (There is a budget for small orchestra).
· To assist the Director, Choreographer, and/or Technical Director in performing any duties needed for a successful production.
·
To attend regular production
meetings with the Artistic Staff to prepare schedules for the cast. To actively
supervise students while they are under your care.
QUALIFICATIONS
2 years min. experience in working with children
Musical Theater Direction experience a must.
