AUDITION NOTICE:The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)[Revised][Again]

We warmly welcome and encourage those from all identities, generations, ethnicities, and abilities to audition.

Video submissions:  Now open through Saturday,

December 7, 2025. 

In person auditions:  Dec. 5 @ 5-8pm and Dec. 6 @ 10am-2pm. (Go to https://www.onestagetheatre.org/completeworks to schedule an appointment.)

Rehearsals:  January 11 - Feb. 9 (Sunday -Thursday 6:30-9:30pm)

Tech:  Feb. 10-12 (Tuesday-Thursday 6:30-9:30pm)

Performances: Friday Feb. 13 at 7pm, Saturday Feb. 14 at 2pm, and Sunday Feb. 15 at 2pm. Performance location: Macau Cultural Center 37695 Niles Blvd., Fremont CA 94536.

Please note your availability and schedule conflicts will affect casting.

What to prepare:  1 minute comedic classical monologue

Video Submissions: Please begin by stating your name and what monologue you will be performing. Make sure you are well lit and are in focus, and are in the frame from your waist up. Actors will play various roles. 

All roles are volunteer and NON-AEA.

Synopsis:

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)[Revised][Again] 2022 Version is a fast-paced, comedic play by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield that parodies all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in a single show. Performed by three actors (cast size may vary), it uses a combination of irreverent humor, physical comedy, and audience participation to condense the comedies, histories, and tragedies into a 97-minute performance. The play is known for its witty and accessible approach, making Shakespeare’s works fun for both fans and newcomers.
