Michael Silas is passion manifested, it's in his every day
approach especially in his dance and performances. It's evident when
he takes to the stage, he skillfully blends character, technique and
pure energy into every movement. Michael Silas was a contestant on
Bravo's "Step It Up & Dance" where he gained America's attention by
being a stand out contestant winning hearts with his personality and
charm. That opened the door for Silas! from there he was chosen as one
of Lady Gaga’s original male dancers; gaining the Haus name "Mikey
Mugler" Michael accompanied her on a rise to superstardom. Silas
performed in both the Fame Ball, the Fame Monster and Emmy Award
winning Monster Ball world tours . He also appeared in music videos
for Poker face, Love Game, Paparazzi, Telephone and Judas.
Silas’ impressive resume also encompasses appearing on The Braxton
Family Values Season 2, where he choreographed the Braxton sisters
for there first live performance in years! Additionally, he's worked
on the X Factor with Nicole Sherzinger, danced with Christina
Aguilera, Ne-Yo, Hillary Duff, and Kelly Rowland to name a few. Silas
has also appeared in the film, “The Longest Yard” and on CW's "Gossip
Girl" ” BET’s “Born to Dance” starring Lauriann Gibson
Michael Silas was born in Germany, to a US soldier and a German
mother. As a child, the family moved to Houston, TX where Silas
became a scholar at the Houston Metropolitan Dance Center. He went on
to train at Broadway Dance Center, Millennium Dance Complex, and the
Debbie Reynolds Dance Academy. He is trained in Ballet, Jazz and
Modern but Hip Hop dancing is what began it all. His style is a
"fusion" making each thing he creates unique.
