2027 SEASON DIRECTOR SUBMISSION
Is there a favorite stage show or musical that you have been eager to direct? Masquers Playhouse is now accepting submissions from experienced theatre directors for our 2027 Main Stage Season. Masquers Playhouse is unique in that we select our season from the submissions of talented directors who want to work in our theatre space. Volunteers from our theatre membership serve on the application committee to review submissions and hear the Director’s vision to create our next season. We are looking for shows that would appeal to our diverse audience base. Our five show Main Stage season ideally includes comedy, musical, drama, mystery, holiday and family fare genres.
REQUIREMENTS
§ Directors may submit ONE or TWO plays. If submitting two, use separate submission forms for each. We also ask that they be submitted in separate of different genres.
§ Director applicants may not sit on the selection committee
§ Directing experience highly encouraged; please provide references
§ Did not direct at Masquers Playhouse in the 2026 season
§ If submitting musical, musical director secured preferred
§ Must be available for Director Interview on Saturday, June 20, 2026
ABOUT THE THEATRE
Masquers Playhouse is a 501.c.3 community theatre in Point Richmond. We are an 86-seat theatre currently celebrating our 71st year of continuous theatrical presentations. We produce five Main Stage shows each year, running four weeks each. While the administration is made up of 100% of volunteers with substantial theatre experience, all artists and creators of our productions receive a personal expense reimbursement for their work on a production.

Go to https://masquers.org/director-submissions Complete all the fields in the application and attach a .pdf copy of the script that you wish to submit. If you are submitting a musical, please also attach an mp4 of the music from the show.
