2026 Season FOH Positions
Marin Shakespeare Company is seeking skilled and passionate front of house workers to join our 2026 Season. This year, we will present four full productions and two festivals at both our indoor and outdoor venues. Our season offers a unique opportunity to work on high-caliber classical theatre in a collaborative, artist-driven environment.
We are hiring for the following front of house positions. Applicants may apply for any or all productions. Schedules for all the shows are included below.
The house manager is responsible for the smooth operation of the house (typically both the lobby and audience seating area) during the run of the show.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the highest level of customer service
Arrive 1 ½ hours prior to curtain for all performances (1 hour for 514)
Ensure the house is clean all is in order for the patrons before the house opens
Greet audience members and take tickets
Direct patrons and provide information about the event
Ensure audience members with disabilities are offered assistance
Address on-site patron concerns, questions, and problems in a professional and courteous manner
Supervise and train volunteer ushers to greet patrons, take tickets, distribute programs, rent seat cushions, clean the house after performances
Manage audience traffic and communicate with Stage Manager to ensure timely start of show
Take accurate headcount of attendees
The concession worker is responsible for preparing and selling food and beverages. They handle customer interactions, operate point-of-sale systems, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities:
Arrive 1 ½ hours prior to curtain for all performances
Preparing food & beverages for sale
Interacting with customers, taking orders, and providing a positive experience
Operating cash registers, processing payments, and completing transactions.
Keeping the concession area clean and organized, restocking supplies, and maintaining equipment.
Overseeing box office volunteer (Forest Meadows only)

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
A theatre usher's primary responsibility is to provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive experience for patrons attending events.
Responsibilities:
Greet patrons, direct them to their seats, and distribute programs
Respond to inquiries about the performance, the venue, and event policies
Monitor audience, ensure aisles are clear, and assist with any safety concerns
Assist patrons with accessibility needs
Maintain a clean environment, pre-show, during the show, and post-show
Field any patron complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
Assist with emergencies
Cushion Rental involves renting seat cushions to patrons as requested for cash. Volunteer will be overseen by the House Manager, and will be responsible for handling cash and restocking cushions.
A box office worker sells tickets at the door, handles transactions (cash/credit), manages will-calls, greets patrons and answers their questions about shows/seating, resolves issues, and ensures smooth entry, requiring strong customer service, and cash handling.
Responsibilities:
Sell tickets.
Handle Will Call
Greet audience members and take tickets
Direct patrons and provide information about the event
Assist House Manager in resolving seating disputes
