Introducing Chrysalis Youth Theatre!!!

Tired of youth programs that push edgy, adult-material shows and costumes?  Tired of directors who play favorites and don't develop the talents of the more raw performers?  Tired of environments where kids feel pushed to do anything and everything to get to the top? 

Look no further! 

We are starting a Christian youth theatre program in Cupertino, with classes beginning in September.  We will be operating as an independent ministry of Valley Church.  We will offer top-notch musical productions, as well as classes in dance, acting, singing, and much more!  Our performances will be accompanied by students from Valley's wonderful youth orchestra program.

What Makes Us Different?

We seek to honor God through the pursuit of excellence in the performing arts.  Not excellence as in necessarily being the most talented individual or getting the best role, but doing your personal best as a person and as a performer or team member.  We strive to inspire and empower every person to do his best in every area, seeking to honor God through performance, growth, and interactions with others.

Toward that end, we seek to create and maintain a positive, encouraging environment free from bullying, backstabbing, gossip, discrimination and cliques, where young people can come and truly be the special and unique individuals God made them to be. We seek to find a happy medium where young people can grow and explore without feeling pushed to compromise their values or beliefs in order to get ahead. 

In all areas we strive for the highest quality possible while maintaining accessibility for people of all walks of life.  We'd rather keep ticket costs low and affordable and trust in the quality of our productions to bring people back to see a show multiple times or to rave about it to family and friends.

Join Us!

We currently have open positions in just about every area.  We need an executive director, a vocal director, an assistant dance director, a costumer, etc.  Looking for enthusiastic people with a strong desire to serve the Lord and make a difference in the lives of young performers.  Must be willing to put in a lot of time, effort, ingenuity and professionalism on a volunteer basis.  While we hope that this will become a full-time job for our core staff, we truly believe in this as labor of love.  While this may be asking a lot, we're offering you the opportunity to be a part of building something truly unique, truly special.  This is your chance to really leave your mark as a theatre professional.  The work you put into this program now will make a difference in the lives of countless young people for years to come.  Take this chance to be a part of something extraordinary!
