Audition at the Pear Avenue Theatre

A King's Legacy
by Elyce Melmon
an exciting world premiere about James I, England's forgotten king.

When Elizabeth I died childless, the English crown was passed to James Stuart --the son of Mary, Queen of Scots.  He was already king of Scotland, a country which for centuries had been England's bitter enemy; son of a woman who had been put to death by Elizabeth; highly educated, cultured, volatile and extremely insecure; patron of the arts and driving force behind a new translation of the Bible; above all, a man determined to leave something for history to remember him by.

Digital script available on request.
Dir. Jenny Hollingworth.
