Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and became the hottest star on Broadway? Why, it's SpongeBob
SquarePants! And now he’s ready to ride the wave to your theatre to entertain and delight audiences in this
brilliant, bright, hilarious and brand-new musical.
Audition Information: In person OR Video
In person auditions - Tuesday, January 27 (6-10pm) & Wednesday, January 28 (7-10pm) at TVTC’s Rehearsal Space - 1020 Serpentine Ln#101, Pleasanton, CA 94566.
Suite located in the back parking lot.
1. Please prepare a cut of a song, approximately 1 minute in length (no more than 90 seconds). Choose
a section that best shows your vocal range (No A Cappella). You can sing a song in the style of the
show or from the show.
2. Bring a copy of your headshot, resume, the audition form, and the conflict calendar.
3. Sign up for an audition slot at bit.ly/tvtc-spongebob-audslots
4. Dance calls will take place at callbacks. If you tap, bring your shoes and feel free to show your skills
during your initial audition.

Callbacks are by invitation only on Saturday, February 7 starting at 3pm.
ALL conflicts from May 10, 2026 through August 16, 2026 MUST BE NOTED on the conflict calendar.
Rehearsal Dates: Rehearsals will begin (approximately, depending on cast conflicts) on May 10 and are
generally Saturdays at 10:00am-3:00pm, Sundays at 6:00pm - 9:00pm, and Monday through Thursday
nights at 7:00pm -10:00. You will not be called to all rehearsals.
Performance Dates and Times: 7 performances from Saturday, August 1 - Sunday, August 16, 2026

Note: Some roles may be double-cast with understudies. In some cases, understudies may be scheduled
for a guaranteed performance. Understudies will receive rehearsal time to ensure they are prepared to step
into the role(s).
SpongeBob SquarePants: He is optimistic, innocent, and boyish; energetic and sometimes hyperactive. This
actor should have the ability to move well and be an extremely physical actor - unafraid of climbing and
being on tall objects. Additionally: Must be naturally funny and have great comedic skills and precision.
Range: C3-B4
Patrick Star: Well-intentioned but lacking common sense or skills; kind and somewhat clueless, an innocent;
a big softie, who can also be prone to sudden child-like fits of rage or frustration.
Range: Bb2-Bb4
Sandy Cheeks: A brainy and athletic Texan squirrel who came to Bikini Bottom for a research project. She
acts as SpongeBob's most trusted ally on their quest to stop the volcano from errupting, using her vast
amount of scientific knowledge and brilliant inventions to aid the mission.
Range: A3-E5
Squidward Q. Tentacles: Grumpy, cynical, dry, shorttempered, generally negative but lovable! This Actor
must move well and TAP dancing skills is a plus.
Range: A2-F#4
Sheldon Plankton: His personality outweighs his size- slick, scheming, nefarious; has the ability to charm;
determined, he will do anything to get ahead in life; very greedy, but his heart is still open enough to rekindle
a romance with his wife. This character will need to dance and rap skills a plus.
Range: B2-G#4
Karen the Computer: Glamorous, a robotic housewife of Plankton. She's been there for Plankton's every
scheme and plot and has become jaded - she's been there and done that. Strong comic actress, as well as
Singer and Mover.
Range: G#3-F#5
Eugene Crabs: The greedy owner of the Krusty Krab, and employer of SpongeBob and Squidward. While
everyone is off panicking about Bikini Bottom's imminent doom, he decides to strike the iron while it's hot
and puts on a huge "apocalypse sale" at his restaurant, exploiting the fear of his fellow fish to make him even
richer.
Range: B2-Bb4
Pearl Krabs: Mr. Krabs' bratty teenage daughter. She is obsessed with the rock band “The Electric
Skates” and just wants her father to understand her. She has a big voice and an even bigger
personality.
Range:Bb3-F#5
Patchy the French Pirate / Narrator: The French pirate who narrates the play. This actor
should have a lot of charisma and charm to keep the audience entertained, as well as excellent
diction to accompany their French accent.
Range: D3-F4 (F5 falsetto)
The Electric Skates: The three members of the rock band the Electric Skates are larger than life
rockstars. These actors should have a tough, punk-rock attitude. Strong Dancers, very
comfortable on skateboards (need to "play" guitar while skating), ability to do skateboard tricks
a plus. Also open to rollerblade or inline skating.
Sardine Devotees: Leaders of the school of Sardines. They lead the group of sardines to follow
Patrick as their guru… big singing voices, and quirky personalities.
Mayor of Bikini Bottom: The mayor tries to solve the volcano crisis with big words and
speeches, but not much action. They are more worried about getting re-elected than actually
helping the town.
Range: F#4-B5
Perch Perkins: The Bikini Bottom action news reporter.
Range: E2-E4
Old Man Jenkins: The oldest Boomer in all of Bikini Bottom.
Range: D3-F4 (F5 falsetto)
Larry the Lobster: A body builder, obsessed with his looks and building muscle. He is ALWAYS
working out. This character voices SpongeBob’s pet snail, Gary.
Mrs. Puff: The town driving instructor. She is sassy, sarcastic, and bitter. The glass is always
half-empty.
B.F.F. Letters: Literally the letters B, F, F who sing and dance along with Spongebob during the
number “B.F.F.”
Sea Anemones: These tap dancers become the big chorus line ensemble for Squidward in his
imagination. Tap experience a plus.
Ensemble: The ensemble will fill out the world of Bikini Bottom as sea creatures, Townfish,
sardines, the chorus of sponges, and an angry mob!!
The Foley Artist Fish: Staged role that produces all sound effects specified in the script and
score using percussion instruments, triggered digital effects, and other creative sound makers.
