MALE SINGER SOUGHT — Indie Rock Musical, Demo Recording

Seeking a versatile male vocalist for studio demo recordings of a new musical in development. Bay Area preferred — there may be a performance opportunity in a couple of months. This is a paid remote engagement; you'll record your own tracks (unpolished demos, not final production) and be credited by name in all development materials.

The role: Emet. A teenage boy who can stop time and uses it to try to save his catatonic mother. Across the show, he ages from tender longing through possessed defiance to a hard-earned wisdom. Range, emotional and vocal, is the whole point of the role. If you like acting through your voice, this one's built for that.

The music: 6-8 songs across contemporary musical theatre with an indie sensibility. 

Instrumentation includes accordion, violin, drums, guitar, bass, tuba — sometimes lyrical, sometimes chaotic, occasionally circusy. You can hear the current, often rough demos here:

The ask:

• Vocal range: E2–A4
• Ability to convincingly voice both a teenage boy and a man in his mid-twenties
• Home recording setup
• Bay Area preferred
• $50/hour, paid
