The New Conservatory Theatre Center is pleased to announce auditions
for their 2009-2010 Pride Season production of The New Century by Paul
Rudnick, and directed by George Maguire.
About the show:
From the playwright who brought us The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told,
Valhalla, and I Hate Hamlet comes a rollicking evening of inter-
related stories turning gay stereotypes into bullet-deflecting armor
and jokes into an inexhaustible supply of ammunition.
Casting the following roles (Non-AEA ONLY):
Helene Nadler: middle-aged Jewish female, well-spoken, charming, and
is the mother of three gay children. Think “Linda Lavin”.
David Nadler (will also play the role of Shane): handsome, muscular,
tall, male, 20’s-30’s.
Joann Milderry: female, 20’s-30’s, the studio receptionist, very
young, sweet and apologetic. Has a seven-month-old baby.
Barbara Ellen Diggs: middle-aged female; a chunky Mid-west housewife
devoted to her potholder crocheting.
*The role of Mr. Charles has been cast*
When:
Sunday January 17th, 2010 (General Auditions/by appointment only, from
11am-2pm).
Where: The New Conservatory Theater Center 25 Van Ness @ Market, Lower
Lobby.
Prepare: 2 minute or less contemporary comedic monologue. (be
prepared to read from the show if called back).
