Your friendly neighborhood theatre company has a hilarious show
opening this Friday - NOISES OFF, about the misadventures of a
misbegotten British theatre troupe! Check it out! We also have 4
staged readings coming up in the next month - a great way to
experience theatre on a budget!
Actors Ensemble of Berkeley at Live Oak Theatre
NOISES OFF, the comic masterpiece written by the acclaimed playwright
Michael Frayn, also responsible for "Copenhagen", "Benefactors", and
"Democracy", is not one play, but two: the hilariously horrible
British farce "Nothing On", and the comedic nightmare that ensures
backstage. Slamming doors, flying props, pratfalls, sardines, and
two-story revolving sets abound as we see the first act of "Nothing
On" presented three times, each with successively less attention to
the script. Opens this Friday, July 20th with a fabulous Gala (e.g.
food and bubbly) in the lobby after the show!
Runs Friday-Saturday July 20th through August 18th at 8 p.m, with a
matinee performance Sunday Aug. 12th at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for
adults, $12 for students and seniors - available through the Actors
Ensemble website
