Second Wind Productions is hiring an Assistant
Stage Manager for its February production of VIGILANCE. Now in its 23rd year,
Second Wind is a small professional theatre company dedicated to engaging
communities in political and social discussions. Information on Second Wind can
be found on our website, www.secondwindtheatre.com .
We are currently hiring an Assistant Stage Manager for the December-January
rehearsals and February performances of the world premiere of VIGILANCE, by Ian
Walker.
The ASM would be expected to attend a majority of rehearsals (with some
flexibility to their schedule) and all performances. We are able to work around
prior conflicts during the rehearsal period. The ASM will assist with
coordinating the actors and production team, rehearsal schedule and notes, the
organization of tech week, stage setup, and supervising backstage operations.
Rehearsal Schedule: We will have one week of rehearsals in December, then break
for the holidays, and return the first week of January. 2nd Wind rehearses
Monday-Thursday evenings (7-10pm) and Sunday afternoons (1-5pm). Tech week is
January 29 - Feb 2nd (1pm-9pm on Sunday, 6-11pm Mon-Thur).
Performance Schedule: Performances are Thursday-Saturday evenings, and Sunday
matinees (2pm) from Friday February 3rd to Saturday February 25th. Performances
will be at the intimate Phoenix Theatre in San Francisco (414 Mason St.,
downtown).
Some experience as a Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, or running crew is
helpful. We're willing/interested in working with individuals who are still
learning and developing their expertise in stage management. This is an
opportunity to work with veteran stage director and international award-winning
playwright Ian Walker, as well as veteran Stage Manager Lori Gordine.
Second Wind is offering a stipend of $200 for the production as well as comp
and discounted tickets for the run of the show. Second Wind prides itself in
providing a supportive connective environment for all of its productions, and
this is a great team to work with. Interested individuals should contact us
through this listing, or our contact page on our website: http://www.secondwind.8m.com/exit/exit.htm
