This year the holy appearance day of Sacinandan Gaura Hari, Sri Krsna Caitanya is celebrated on Thursday, March 13th in the Bay Area. Because the tithi is on weekday, program hosts have decided to celebrate Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu on Saturday, March 8th. With the kind assistance of Radhanatha Prabhu & Kilimba didi, Ratikala will be hosting a program at Seva-kunj Ashram in Walnut Creek.
Please join this devotional celebration to engage in singing bhajans, listening to Harikatha, remembering the reasons for Mahaprabhu's advent, and Harinama Sankirtana, followed by a Prasadam pot-luck feast. Everyone's participation is greatly appreciated - please text if you are planning to join us and let us know if would like to bring a preparation.

Once in a day of Brahma, the Supreme Lord takes His birth in Kali-yuga to distribute what no other incarnation gives, unalloyed pure love of Krsna found in the residents of Vrindavana. He does this through Harinama sankirtana that is infused with Vraja prema. He synthesizes the highest siddhanta of acintya bhedabheda tattva, taking the best from the philosophies of all 4 Vaisnava sampradayas to benedict the world with the purest and most elevated understanding of the science of God.
On this auspicious day of the Purnima, the Supreme Lord took his birth in Mayapura dhama in the year 1486. All the residents of Navadvipa were taking bath in the Ganga and chanting the Lord's Holy Names due to a lunar eclipse. In such an atmosphere, the Lord appeared to bless the world with His amazing pastimes and distributing 'antyata durlabha prema', the most rarely achieved pure love of Krsna.
