Friends,
Two excellent films will be available this Saturday and Sunday. The Movement and the Madman produced by Robert Levering, former member of SF Meeting shown on line from the AFSC meeting in Philadelphia at 3pm this Saturday, April 13 followed by a panel discussion of anti war activists. This shows the power of nonviolent movements to change US government policy.:

The second film, Television Event will be shown on PBS KQED Plus at 8pm on Sunday April 14. Quakers were also involved in making this film. It is about the film, "The Day After" (the day after a nuclear war)  which was shown on national TV in 1983 and seen by 100 million Americans and 200 Russians including President Reagan and Gorbachev and helped build the movement for the abolition of nuclear weapons. Very highly recommended. IT will also be shown Thursday April 18 at 8:45 pm on KQED Plus.

Hope you can join us to see these powerful films which give us hope we can help make change in these challenging and dangerous times.! Please share widely.
Peace,
David Hartsough, Peace Committee, SF Friends Meeting
