Talk with us about AFSC.
What is special and Quaker about AFSC?
What do you value most about it?

A panel of current and former AFSC employees and volunteers will each reflect briefly on those two questions. Then audience members will be invited to share their own questions and thoughts. A “three-minute rule” will apply to all messages.

Our panelists will be:
  • Arnie Alpert, past director/co-director of the AFSC New Hampshire Program from 1981 to 2020.
  • Hector Cortez, Deputy General Secretary of AFSC since 2013.
  • Lucy Duncan, past Director of Friends Relations for AFSC 2011-2020, a member of Green Street Friends Meeting in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Bob Eaton, longtime AFSC volunteer and former board member, a member of Durahm Friends Meeting in Durham, NC.
  • Kathy Hersh, former AFSC staff and current Corporation member for AFSC, a member of Miami Friends Meeting in Florida.
  • Jana Schroeder, AFSC Board member from 2016 until April 2021, immediate past clerk of the board’s Friends Relations Committee, a member of Clear Creek Friends Meeting in Richmond, Indiana.
  • Beverly Ward, current AFSC Corporation member; Field Secretary for Earth Care, SEYM; a member of Tampa Friends Meeting in Florida.

Kathy Hyzy, our own previous editor of Western Friend, will moderate this event.

I hope you can join us.

Happy New Year!
– Mary
