Dear Friends,
Just wanted to alert you to the new film "The Boys Who Said NO" about refusal of American young men to fight in the Vietnam war. This will be shown tonight at 7pm at the New Parkway theater in Oakland. (See message below.) Many good Friends of ours are in the film and other good Friends helped make the film.)

Also of interest an excellent film, "Slavery By another name" will be shown tonight at 8:30pm on Channel 9 and will be shown again Friday night at 7om and Saturday at 4pm. An excellent film on the history of systemic racism in this country.

Warm Greetings and Peace,
David Hartsough

Dear Friends,

As many of you know, next Tuesday, December 7, will be the first in-person Bay Area screening of The Boys Who Said NO at the New Parkway Theater in Oakland. The screening is at 7 PM followed by a post-film discussion with David Harris, Robert Levering and Edward Hasbrouck.

The screening is hosted by the Berkeley Film Foundation, one of the funders of the film.

There are still quite a few seats available if you’re able to make it and don’t have a ticket yet. Please also spread the word to others in the Bay Area who may be interested.

Tickets are available here: tinyurl.com/dec7-screening

The event is a great opportunity to gather and celebrate the film’s wider release.

The theater has a full-service cafe, so if you come early you can grab something to eat - www.thenewparkway.com/cafe. There are also many other good food offerings in Oakland’s Uptown neighborhood near the theater. If you drive, allow time to find parking. If you can take BART, the 19th Street station is a short walk to the theater.

Proof of Covid vaccination with photo ID or a negative Covid test within 48 hours is required by the theater.

Hope to see many of you there!

LAST MINUTE SHOUT OUT!
Bay Area radio station KALW broadcast a short interview yesterday with Judith Ehrlich you can listen to here.

Best,
