Dear Friends,                                       March 25, 2023

Hope you are well. I wanted to alert you to three important opportunities. Please forgive me if I have already sent you this message.

First is the showing of the powerful film, “The Movement and the Madman” produced and directed by Robert Levering and Steve Talbot. It will be shown on PBS next Tuesday, March 28 at 9pm on all PBS stations across the country. It shows the power of the people – Nonviolent Movements - to stop Nixon’s plan to use nuclear weapons in North Vietnam. See the link below for more info about the film. Very highly recommended!! Please spread this message widely.

Second, several friends helped me create a 50 minute audio file of powerful excerpts of Martin Luther King’s sermons and speeches on Peace, War, Poverty and Nonviolence available at.:.

King’s message is as relevant for us today as it was over 50 years ago! Hope you will find these excerpts of King’s talks as inspirational as I do. Please share widely!!

Thirdly, my book, Waging Peace: Global Adventures of a Lifelong Activist, is now available as an audio book (free of charge) at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygol-QN1Uwg

or as a hard copy from PM Press or can be ordered through your local bookstore. Waging Peace is a good antidote to the major problem of hopelessness felt by so many about the enormity of the many challenges facing our country and the world.

Fourth, for those who may not know, two and a half years ago I was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (cancer of the bone marrow and blood). I was originally told I might have only months to live, but with the love and prayers from friends around the world and good medical care and medicine, I am still here and grateful each day to be alive. I am still active in working to build the Beloved Community. See my Caring Bridge site if you want to keep abreast of my medical condition.

Sending Warm greetings and love from San Francisco.
