We have an open position in our CREC program for an Assistant Teacher for the Nursery.

We are seeking a warm, creative and patient person to be a regular teaching assistant in our Nursery.
We would like to find someone who:
- Relates well to a variety of learning styles at different ages (having fun is a must!).
- Has childcare and/or teaching experience, especially with children age 0-5.
- Is familiar with Quaker Faith and Practices and Children’s Religious
- Education in particular
- Enjoys working closely with other members of the children’s education team
- Wants to help engage and teach the children during meeting hour
- Is organized,reliable and willing to assist with the ongoing tasks of keeping the program running smoothly.
- It is not necessary to be an active member of the Meeting, though this would be
- wonderful.
Supervised by: CREC (Children’s Religious Education Committee) Chair on a bi‐monthly basis and Lead Teacher on weekly basis
Hours: 10:30am‐12:30pm Sundays with additional hours requested in advance for field trips or other activities as required by Lead Teacher.
Compensation: $20 per hour, roughly 10 hours/month in and out of classroom.
Duration: Willing to make a one year commitment
Goals: Assist the CREC in supporting the nursery program.
Objectives: Provide consistent weekly presence for the children of nursery age in our community.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide quality care for children from age 0-5.
- Prepare class room by 10:45am as directed by Lead Teacher
- Fill in for Lead teacher in his absence.
- Assist in gathering children between 10:45‐11:15am into their proper rooms, easing separation between parent and child
- Assist in individual attention or help with children’s conflict resolution
- Prepare snacks as requested by Lead Teacher
- Provide Room Clean up so Lead Teacher can bring children downstairs for worship presentation at 12:05pm.
- Sort and organized new and used materials in their proper shelving
- Assist Lead Teacher in any emergency situation
Additional qualifications: Experience in childcare with infants and younger children. CPR certified by their start day. Willing to undergo Trustline and background checks. Fluent in spoken and written English. Must provide resume
and three references.
