Dear Friends,
This is to alert you to three important peacemaking opportunities coming up this and next week:
1. See the powerful film, "The Day After" about a nuclear war which was shown on national TV in 1983 and was seen by over 100 million people including President Reagan and Michael Gorbachev and helped them decide to work for nuclear disarmament. It will be shown online this Saturday morning, Hiroshima Day at 9am at this and will be followed by a discussion led by good friends of mine link:
2. Virtual Demonstration at Livermore Nuclear Weapons Labs on Saturday, Hiroshima Day, Aug 6 and on Nagasaki Day, Tuesday Aug. 9 starting at 9am on both days. Whistleblower Daniel Elsberg, a Hibakusha from Nagasaki, a peacemaker from Russia and Marilea Kelley of Tri Valley Cares will be speaking. Now more than ever we must speak out against the game of nuclear Chicken the US, Russia and China are playing which could kill hundreds of millions or billions of people. Here is the link:

3. A powerful Waging Peace Exhibit of Veterans speaking out and acting for peace during the Vietnam war. This will be at the Veterans Building at 401 Van Ness through next week from 1-6 pm each day. Very inspiring!

Hope you can take part in one or more of these important opportunities.
Peace,
David Hartsough
