US Nationals this weekend

Hello all,
The 2012 US National Carrom Championship will be held over this weekend in Edison, NJ. This is the toughest carrom competition in the western hemisphere. This year's tournament is seeing an unprecedented turnout with over 60 players gunning for the trophies, including a team of new pro players from Canada.
4 players will be representing California:
* Mani Chandrasekar (Winner, 2012 Bay Area Open)
* Bala Parthasarathy (Winner, 2011 Bay Area Open)
* Srikanth Bangalore (Winner, 2010 Bay Area Open)
* Vamshi Boinpalli (Winner, 2010 AID Bay Area Play for India Open)
A few more Californian faces familiar in the national scene - Sanjay Murthy, Sebastien Blandin, Amol More and Nitin More - are not participating in this year's event.
In any case, competition for the top spot is expected to be extra stiff this year, since performance at the nationals will determine the US team selection for the upcoming world cup in Sri Lanka. See details at http://www.uscarrom.org.
