to Micro-Philanthropy for Bay Area Arts
Gracious thanks to Josh at Independent Arts & Media for inviting me to
speak at an upcoming panel on arts funding issues produced by
CounterPulse as part of their Fall & Winter Talks and co-presented by
Independent Arts & Media. This panel is part of the Expo for the
Artist and Musician.

Come hear me talk about my vision for microphilanthropy for the arts:
Instead of ONE $25,000 donation to the San Francisco Symphony, I see
ONE THOUSAND $25 donations to any number of individual artists,
collectives and grassroots arts organizations in the bay area.

Or maybe it's FIVE THOUSAND $5 donations!! You get the picture.

** "$56 Million a Year & Where's the Art?" -- September 12 **

From city arts entitlements to grantmaking by private
foundations, big
money is spent on the arts in San Francisco. Funders struggle to
be fair,
while local artists and arts organizations are torn between their
creative
mission and market forces. Co-sponsored by Independent Arts &
Media
as part of the annual Expo for the Artist and Musician.
