Hi everyone,

I am planning to build and fly my first quadcopter sometime soon.  It will be a 250mm class quadcopter.

Here's some basics on the design:

Motors: T- Motor MN2206 2000KV
Propellers: APC "Speed 400" 6x4
ESC: Velotech 30A with 2A ESC
Flight Control System: Acro Naze 32
Battery: EcoPower 2200mAh 60C 3S

I plan on ordering about 1/2 of my parts from A-Main Hobbies, some more from Amazon, and the props direct from APC.

I just want to ask: Is this a good design for me? How is A-Main?

Thanks!

I realized that I forgot to include weight.  Planned AUW is about 700 grams.

I'm new to the drone/UAV world too.

Anyway, will your drone have GPS capability? Where do you plan to fly?

Thanks.

Thanks for replying!

I just looked up the Naze board and it does not have a GPS sensor- so I guess not.

As for where I plan to fly, I live in Sunnyvale, so probably somewhere around there- I haven't fully thought that out yet.  Do you have any recommendations?

I've been looking for a place to fly for awhile and just recently I stumbled accross this link to a Google map of some places that I guess would be good to fly a drone.

When I get my drone, the first place I'm going to try is the Sunnyvale Bay Creek Park. I believe other UAV pilots go there.

Thanks,
John

Thanks for all the info, everyone, on places to fly- I am sure it will be useful.
However, I still need feedback on my design.  To reiterate:

250mm class quadcopter

Motors: T- Motor MN2206 2000KV
Propellers: APC "Speed 400" 6x4
ESC: Velotech 30A with 2A ESC
Flight Control System: Acro Naze 32
Battery: EcoPower 2200mAh 60C 3S

AUW: ~700 grams (+/- 50g)
