Hi Partick,
I hope that you do not mind for me of expressing my thoughts on the LTH and CSB. First of all, you must agree a general saying that no body is perfect except God. Of course, LTH is not perfect, since he is also a regular person.
My personal observations from the past several years made me to feel that
1. LTH has assisted CSB to take over the "throne" peacefully to complete the first "政權轉移".
2. LTH also joined CSB for the "手牽手" movement for helping the CBS' presidential campaign.
For the above, CBS should appreciate LTH very much. Instead, during CBS' presidency, he once hinted that LTH was corruptive in the arm sale investigations. This might have made LTH mad. In the contrary, in the past several years, it seems that most people consider that CBS was corrupted. But I felt strongly that CBS' sentence is something to do with the Taiwan's injustice.
Actually, CBS is very naïve as evident from a small sue happened in Hua-Lien. For that case, CBS walked alone as a president to face a no-body judge in Hua-Lien's local court. He never knew that he could exercise his executive powder to delay such a small case. CBS' naivety can further be revealed from the fact that LTH has been old enough to be his father, and LTH is a former president who has assisted him to have "政權轉移", some respects must be given to LTH. Obviously CBS did not. I wonder if you were LTH, how would you respond to CBS' attitude? I personally believe that "IT" could have nothing to do with 選舉恩怨.
Lastly, it is also not understandable why CBS with a presidential experience did not know how to properly advice his son not to run for his congressional effort some 3~4 years ago, resulting in a bad DPP's defeat in Kao-hsiung. From this regional election, CBS did not have a broad "顧大局" concept, only for his personal gain. I hope that CBS has changed all those years, and he is improving his health.
God bless Taiwan!!
Bang Hwang
Hi Frank,
Thank you for an insightful response.
From your reply, I would like to further extend to an elucidation on mayor KO's wisdom from which the politicians can learn from KO Wen-Jer, who cared for CBS, and deeply respects LTH. During KO's campaign for Taipei mayoral election, KP has ever visited LTH at least 4 times asking for president Lee's advice which should have in part contributed to the KP's landslide victory for his mayoral election.
With the KP's heart-felt warmth to the society, his gut to reveal corruption, his patriotism toward Taiwan, his tender care for CBS and his respect to LTH, in my opinion, KP is one of the best politicians in Taiwan at this moment who may become a great statesman. KP has revolutioninzed Taiwan's politics.
God bless KP, and Taiwan!
Bang
Bang, your answer makes sense. It is regrettable that the two cannot get together.
But it is stupidity of some Taiwanese using the rift between the two to divide the Taiwanese camp. What the Taiwanese should do is ignore the rift and respect their respective contributions to the Taiwanese society. Let the history be the ultimate judge.
