Fleet meeting

Fellow O25 owners. For those that sailed, hope you enjoyed yesterday's first race of our nationals. It was anything but straight forward. And you all can drain a keg pretty fast.  

With so many of us gathered in one place, can we have an impromptu bay area fleet meeting for maybe 30 minutes Sunday morning prior to racing? This would be open to all bay area owners. If you aren't sailing, please come by. We could meet on the deck at RYC. And we could possibly plan for a more formal meeting during RYC Big Daddy to close on open items. 

I don't expect us to solve world hunger or come to final decisions, but it would be good to get conversations started on a few items:

- 2024 Fleet counters schedule

- 2024 Nationals - This is the 40th anniversary of the boat's introduction- we should go big and really try and hold a special event

- 2023-2024 Midwinters - options for hosting club

- Any needed changes to class rules.

I have access to the draft YRA calendar from next year courtesy of our friends at Berkeley Yacht Club. I've compiled some dates for races we can discuss.

Given how poorly the YRA bay races were attended this year - 2/3/4/2 boats per day, my proposal for 2024 would be to focus the season championship on the "Club Buoy Races" with 3-races on a saturday (eg. try to get to 12 races in as few as four days). and then to put together solid list of distance races list for the less buoy oriented / more casual boats.

If there are any events for which you want a date for discussion, let me know...

Hi All,

Thanks to all who helped organize the '23 Nationals. Loved the keg (bigger one or 2 next year!) and the shirts.

Very sporting of RYC to host us and great RC work. 

Congratulations to David G and Team Sketch for the Repeat National Championship. Total Domination!

Sorry to have missed the impromptu fleet meeting. 

Yes to more racing on the City Front via OYRA.

I am open to a schedule that clusters the races at club races and adds some distance races, I also want to support YRA if we can.  

We will race the Nationals next year at whatever venue that will have us.

Alchemy will not be racing Great Pumpkin nor BYC Midwinters #1.
