Hello Olson 25s!

That's a wrap for the 2025 Olson 25 SFBay Season - please find attached the final standings. We ended the season with 9 racing days scored and thus counting each boat's 8 best scores in the final standings.

For the second year in a row, congrats to Sketch for finishing 1st in all their race days to capture their second consecutive season title! Time to get to know the new Latitude 38 racing editor.

Other notes:

• Kudos to Steve, Terri, and the crew of Synchronicity for finishing the season as the only boat to sail all 9 days and pushing everyone very hard on each one. Alas, Synchronicity led the standings from the start until the very last day.
• The day scoring system impacted the championship! Had we scored the 17(!) individual races this year, I did the math, and Synchronicity would have unequivocally recaptured the crown with Sketch missing race days. The rest of the standings would have come out exactly the same. Something to think about before next season. 
• Nine boats registered for at least one season race in 2025, same number as 2024, up from five in 2023, and six in 2022. Participation distribution in 2025: All 9 days (1 boat), 8 days (2 boats), 6(2), 4(2), 1(2).
• Big Fleet welcome to Greg & Michele who brought #011 Clean Sweep back to the fleet as first-time season participants in 2025! 
• With five bay area boats for sale or sold this season please look out for and encourage any new owners you come across.

Thank you for sharing the results and the data behind it. That will be good information to include in discussions about 2026 season planning. We wished we could have sailed more races but our SFYC club series had several overlaps. We were fortunate to even have a chance at winning the season. It did make for an all or nothing exciting last race. 

We want to congratulate Steve, Terry and the crew of Synchronicity on a well sailed, well fought series. Synchro showed a lot of speed and determination this year that delivered consistent results. We watched time and again Synchro pass boats and get back on the podium every time we sailed. That says a lot about the folks sailing the boat. Saturday's race was all about staying between Synchro and the finish. Where Steve and Terry went we would go. We were joking while sailing that long starboard tack to the city front yesterday that if Steve and Terry and crew decided to set the kite and head to Oracle Park, so would we, and maybe have a nice raft up in McCovey cove. 

It was great to see seven boats on the line Saturday. I hope we can increase that count for our Nationals. As per our usual program, Sketch will host beers from Otto's Garage after racing Friday. And since there are no Wabbit sailors this year, that means more for all of us!

We ordered 100 buffs for this year's regatta. 60 are already spoken for. As a reminder, we are selling them in packs of 5 for $25. Please send me an email with your order. I have attached a PDF with the final artwork.

Thanks to everyone who made the season so fun! Its hard to imagine a day more perfect than Saturday, powered up on the #1 and sunny and warm enough I didn’t put on a jacket. Was everyone else surrounded by the little dolphins under the bridge on the way out?
