All,
I wanted to officially invite those of you who live or work in Santa Clara County to attend the monthly meetings for our countywide Trauma-Informed Care Coalition. Attached is a brief description of who we are and what we're trying to accomplish. Our February 16th meeting will be significant as we will have a special guest in attendance and will also be finalizing our work plan for 2011. If you're interested in this subject, I'd also love it if you filled out the survey at the bottom of this email.
The special guest for the Feb 16th meeting that I mentioned is trauma expert Gabriella Grant, who will be in attendance to answer questions and provide guidance to any members who are working to implement the principles of trauma-informed care within their organizations. Gabriella is the director of the California Center of Excellence for Trauma Informed Care, where she oversees the Center’s research and policy analysis activities. She also travels extensively throughout the state to conduct trainings and provide technical assistance around issues of trauma-informed care. Her work has benefitted the criminal justice system, domestic violence shelters, county behavioral health systems, and a variety of other organizations. Her complete bio can be found here: http://trauma-informed-california.org/about.html
In order to make the best use of Gabriella’s time, I’ve created a brief survey that will help identify the most significant questions our members have In Inorder to make the best use of Gabriella’s time, we’ve created a brief survey that will help identify the most significant questions our members havearound trauma-informed care. The survey will take about 5 minutes to complete, and you’ll have my unending gratitude as payment! I hope to hear from you soon. J
