1) New member introductions - If you are visiting us for the 1st time please let us know at the meeting. It's always great to see new faces!
2) FART schedule - For those new to BAM, FART stands for Friday Afternoon Revival Time. It's a great way to meet new people and share a few drinks with new and old friends after a long work week. Please reference the BAM calendar located at
http://mashtronauts.com/calendar/. Here's a quick snapshot for next few weeks...1/15 TBD, 1/22 Galveston Bay Beer Company, 1/29 TBD, and 2/5 Bay View Duck.
3) Dues - Tim Gamble will be collecting dues at tonight's meeting. For a quick reference, individual membership is $20 and family membership is $30. 4) Brew-Ins - The December Stout Brew-In was held on Saturday 12/5 at DeFalco's Clear Lake. It was a great success. We brewed 5 different stouts and a mead during the event. Pictures of the event were posted to the Mashtronaut group Facebook page over the weekend. Please check them out! For those of you that are not familiar with brew-ins, the club provides 10# base grain (2-row) for all brewers interested in brewing at the event. Our next scheduled brew in is tentatively scheduled for the February time frame and will be aligned with the intra-club Nuts & Bolts competition. Please contact the officers if you have any questions.
5) Nuts & Bolts - Mike Wiley has finalized the teams for Nuts & Bolts. Mike will have more information on the style, technique, teams, entry dates, etc at tonight's meeting. Entries will be judged in April and the winning beer will be served at LR23 if the team elects. Please contact Mike Wiley if you have any questions.
Mike Wiley will have more information on the style, technique, teams, etc at the February meeting. Preliminary thoughts are to team BAM and Foam Ranger members together. Style, technique, submission/judging dates are TBD. Please contact Mike Wiley if you have any questions.
6) Lone Star Circuit - "The mission of the Lone Star Circuit is to actively promote and support the homebrew clubs, contests, and homebrewers of Texas." Currently the 2016 competition dates have not been updated online however Bluebonnet is scheduled for the weekend of 3/11-3/13. Also the CIA brew club is petitioning to join the Lone Star Circuit and will host a homebrew event in September. They will need all of the judging and event support we can offer. Additional information can be found at the Lone Star Circuit home located at
http://www.lonestarcircuit.com/. Jeff Oberlin (Stumpy) can also provide additional insight into the circuit and competitive brewing if interested.
7) LR23 - Lunar Rendezbrew 23 will be on Saturday 5/7 next year at the BACC. The change in timing allows for entry drop-off at the Bluebonnet festival scheduled for 3/11-3/13. We are quickly cycling into planning for next year's event and need all of the help we can get to ensure that the Lunar Rendezbrew continues to be a success. Please contact me or any of the other officers if you are interested in learning more about Lunar Rendezbrew. Here's a quick snapshot of the planned dates:
