November 2015 meeting agenda:
1) New member introductions - If you are visiting us for the 1st time please let us know at the meeting. It's always great to see new faces!
2) FART schedule - For those new to BAM, FART stands for Friday Afternoon Revival Time. It's a great way to meet new people and share a few drinks with new and old friends after a long work week. Please reference the BAM calendar located at
http://mashtronauts.com/calendar/. Here's a quick snapshot for next few weeks...11/13 Nobi, 11/20 Cock & Bull, 11/27 Galveston Bay Beer Company, and 12/4 Bay View Duck.
3) Dues - Tim Gamble will be collecting dues at tonight's meeting. For a quick reference, individual membership is $20 and family membership is $30. Cash, credit card, and Paypal payments are preferred. Please contact Tim Gamble or find him at the meeting if you wish to join or renew your club membership.
4) Brew-Ins - The December Stout Brew-In is scheduled for 12/5 at DeFalco's Clear Lake. Water connections will be available for all who plan to brew. The club provides 10# base grain (2-row) for all brewers interested in brewing at the event. Please coordinate your recipes with Andy Barnard @ DeFalco's 2 weeks prior to the brew-in to ensure that he has enough time to order your hops, yeast, and specialty grains. Please contact the officers if you have any questions.
5) Lone Star Circuit - Congrats to all of our homebrewers who entered competitions this year. The Bay Area Mashtronauts won the 2015 Homebrew Club Award and Jeff Oberlin won the 2015 Homebrewer of the Year Award. Bill Arning, TJ Tayaman, & Adrian Soto came in 3rd place for Team Brewers. Tim Gamble & Eric Briggs came in 4th place for Team Brewers. Pete Train and Cindy Oberlin also placed in the top 10 individual homebrewers for the circuit. Overall outstanding job by our fellow Mashtrobrewers! Additional information can be found at the Lone Star Circuit home located at
http://www.lonestarcircuit.com/. Jeff Oberlin (Stumpy) can also provide additional insight into the circuit and competitive brewing if interested.
6) LR23 - Lunar Rendezbrew 23 will be on Saturday 5/7 this year at the BACC. The change in timing allows for entry drop-off at the Bluebonnet festival scheduled for 3/11-3/13. Sorting and judging will be held during later part of March and April of 2016. We are quickly cycling into planning for next year's event and need all of the help we can get to ensure that the Lunar Rendezbrew continues to be a success. Please contact me or any of the other officers if you are interested in learning more about Lunar Rendezbrew.
7) 2016 officer elections - Elections will be held tonight at the meeting. If you are interested in running please let me know prior to the meeting so I can add you to the list of candidates. Here are the nominees that I have so far...
