My colleague Lisa Regalla and I are excited to announce that we have received an IMLS grant to work on a two-year endeavor,
The New Face of Library Makerspaces, in partnership with Nation of Makers
. Building on our work with California Public Libraries that resulted in our publication
Makers in the Library Toolkit, we will take time to research the innovations that were developed over the pandemic for library maker programs and work to build an inclusive, supportive national Collective of library maker staff with an emphasis on small, rural and under-resourced communities. (With our published toolkit, our emphasis has been public libraries, but we will also include information about school and academic libraries in our research and in the Collective.)
