Hi Bay Area Makers,
We are hiring! Redwood Day School, a K-8 independent school in Oakland, CA, is looking for a part-time Lower School Design, Build & Innovate (DBi) Lab Specialist to join our team starting August 12, 2026.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is passionate about hands-on learning, making, and building creative experiences for young students.
A few highlights about the role:
• Develop and deliver a K-5 DBi curriculum spanning tinkering, design thinking, coding, and robotics
• Work with tools including 3D printers, laser cutters, and hand and power tools
• Collaborate with a Middle School DBi Specialist to build a cohesive K-8 making program
• Contribute to the school's vision for an AI Tinkering Lab for K-8 students
• Part-time (.5 FTE), with classes scheduled late mornings and afternoons Monday–Friday
We are looking for someone with a STEAM background, experience in a Makerspace or FabLab, and a genuine love for working with elementary-aged students.
