Since things are moving so quickly, I'm curious what ideas people have for getting materials to students (assuming you have them on hand). I'm curious based on some ideas I'm working on for Castilleja but also because I have Lectrify stuff I'd be willing to effectively give away if teachers could use it, and other stuff that I'd heavily discount, but with the Shelter in Place, am not sure if you'd be able to get it to students.
At-Home projects:
- Vibrating motor projects - Happy to send 10 packs of the Shake It board for $20 (shipping included)... here's a sample project students can do:
http://www.lectrify.it/products/turkeyracers (I can include straws at no cost if interested).
- low supervision micro:bit frameworks - Last week we hosted a virtual meetup to discuss using the micro:bit in the classroom. Specifically, what are some frameworks that we can provide students that are low threshold-no ceiling while supplying sufficient structure to allow for low supervision exploration. This worksheet summarizes some ideas and what would potentially go into the "kit" for the students.

I'd be willing to provide individual kits at cost for teachers to explore these ideas themselves. Since they include both a bit:booster and a bit:buddy they'll be at least $35-$40 because they'll have cables, an OLED screen, a motor and other materials.Let me know if you might be interested and I can finalize the contents of the kits and let you know their cost. I also have inventory of micro:bits if you need one.
Please email directly if interested in any materials but please share with the wider group if you have suggestions on how to distribute items to students. If you work with disadvantaged students, I am willing to send you 10 packs free... this offer assumes you have a plan to use this in the current situation, not save for later.
