Greetings everyone!

I hope the school year is winding down well for you all. We are winding down and winding up for a big academic year already.

Next year my team at the Oracle Education Foundation is exploring new ways to increase our impact and reach. I am working on an idea to host a day-long hackathon event where students learn a new technology, work in teams to solve a design challenge, and have an Oracle employee as a mentor coach. As we are looking now, we are thinking of two approaches. A field trip day or a Saturday event serving about 300  high school students/teachers. We are in the idea building phase, but looking to run a prototype or two next school year.

Back in the day when I did work for Black Girls Code, I used to see these types of events in action.  Does anyone know of any organization that does anything adjacent to or similar in nature that I can look into for some models and potential visits if they have something happening?
I appreciate any thoughts or leads you may have for me.

Thank you,
Abigail
