Hello All!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous summer.
I just began working for Berkeley Public Library and we have some pretty stellar meeting rooms.
Would anyone have interest in coming to a monthly or bi-monthly listening party starting in late August?

I haven't been active as of late in the radio world, but I do miss the camaraderie.
Also, having a series in a public place could help attract new blood as well.

Thoughts?

Cheers!

Hi Kye,

Thanks for organizing us! The big stumbling block for getting this group together for listening sessions has been a place to meet. If you can get hold of a room at the Berkeley Pub Lib:

-- would it cost?
-- do they have speakers?
-- can we bring food? wine?

I'd love to have a regular listening gathering in the East Bay. (And there are a lot more of us than those on this list serve.)

Cheers, Claire

Yep,

Specifically, I work at and am most familiar with North Branch on The Alameda/MLK.
The room has speakers and projection.
Food is allowed, I'd have to check on alcohol.
And it's downstairs away from the main library area which helps with lessening outside distraction
The room is free to community orgs. I'm not sure if that requires a 501c3 status, but I'll find out on Monday.

I'm thrilled there's interest!

I would be and could also share with some of the producers I work with at KPFA.

Fantastic,

So checked in with Bill, who's head honcho at North Branch.
We can reserve anytime and
-Food is allowed, but we can't have alcohol on the premises. However, the library is just down the way from Solano Ave. with lots of eateries and bars if we want to continue the discussion afterwards.

wow -- this sounds great!

And I think most of us can do without booze for an evening :)

Can't wait to hear what's next -- thanks for coordinating this Kye!
