Hi All,

As you know, March 4th was a nationwide day of action to preserve an accessible public education. Some of the March 4th organizers are now inviting advocates, activists, and community members to a townhall meeting to build a broader movement to look beyond the attack on public education. Those active in the anti-war and anti-prison movements, for instance, want to merge with the high-energy student movement.

As advocates for seniors, the disabled, very low-income families, immigrants, and other populations who depend on social safety net programs that are repeatedly on the chopping block, your voices are necessary at this townhall. Cuts to public education and cuts to critical safety net programs are two sides of the same coin. Let's go to fill them in on what's going on on our front.

What: Oakland Mobilizing Townhall
Where: Laney College (not sure which hall/room yet)
When: Saturday, March 27th, 1-4pm
Who: Organizers and community members who want to build a broader movement in light of the budget cuts

Hope to see you there!
